2 week International Immersion

Coming Soon. More details to be updated at a later date.

Imagine arriving in one of the most exciting cities in the world — where breakfast is steamed buns from a street stall, where temples built a thousand years ago sit next to neon shopping districts, and where people, language and movement fill every moment. This programme is your chance to experience China from the inside: living on a real university campus, practising Chinese in everyday life, and growing your confidence through real immersion rather than classroom theory alone.

Key Information

Eligibility: NZ registered teachers of Chinese (ages 25–55)
Proficiency required: HSK Level 1+ preferred
Programme capacity: 15 participants

Priority is given to teachers of Levels 1–4, non-native speakers, active Language Circle participants and educators looking to grow professionally.

What You’ll Experience & Learn

Throughout the programme you will:
• Immerse yourself in Chinese language and culture daily
• Create classroom resources inspired by real experiences
• Take part in hands-on cultural workshops
• Visit schools and observe teaching in action
• Explore world cultural heritage sites
• Build strong professional networks with teachers across NZ
• Return home energised, informed and inspired to teach

All activities are delivered in Mandarin, offering authentic, lived language learning for teachers working toward fluency and cultural competency.

You’ll Return With More Than Language

Expect to leave China with stronger Mandarin skills, better teaching strategies, new friendships, and deep cultural understanding. You’ll return with ideas, memories, inspiration — and the confidence to bring Chinese to life for your students back home.
