GROW - Empowering Teachers of Additional Languages - Years 4 to 9

Years 4 to 9 language and culture teachers who are currently teaching or plan to teach additional languages in their classroom.

This course is delivered through two full-day face-to-face workshops. four online workshops and practice analysis school visits.

Important note: Dates are now confirmed. Venues for face-to-face workshops to be confirmed.

Workshop 1 (online): Introduction to the course, meet and share contexts, new curriculum and PGC requirements. Wednesday 25th March 2026, 3.30-5.00pm

Workshop 2 (full-day face-to-face): Basic pedagogical framework for Language teachingStrategies for developing learners' listening and speaking skills, highlighting the relationship between language and culture. Wednesday 20th May 2026, 9am-3pm

Workshop 3 (online): Enhancing global citizenship in additional language learning. Tuesday 9th June 2026, 3:30-5.00pm

Workshop 4 (full-day face-to-face): Build on pedagogical framework for Language teaching. Strategies for developing learners' reading and writing skills, highlighting the relationship between language and culture. Friday 25th August 2026, 9am-3pm

Workshop 5 (online): Integrate cross-curricular inclusion and the science of learning. Tuesday  15th September  2026, 3:30-5.00pm

Workshop 6 (online): Professional Growth Cycle presentations. Date options: Wednesday 4th November or Thursday 5th November 2026, 3:30-5.00pm

Covered by Language Circle - 1 x Teacher release day, 2 x School visits if required, 2 x Face to Face workshops, Airfares to and from face to face workshops/ shuttle to and from airport to workshop venue/ accommodation if required, Catering for workshops.

 Not covered by Language Circle (School or Teachers to cover) - Transport cost including parking to and from the airport in your home town, one Teacher Release Day for the face to face workshops and release time for an hour after the practice analysis visit/ preferably straight after the visit.
