This course is designed for language teachers of junior programmes to: explore different language teaching approaches that suit Years 9 and 10; equip themselves with practical strategies to build learners' confidence in all language skills; implement newly learned approaches and strategies to provide a more solid foundation for senior language programmes for their learners.

This course is delivered through two full-day face-to-face workshops. Four online workshops and practice analysis school visits.

Workshop 1 (online): Equipping your students for success from the beginning of their language learning journey.
- Christchurch cluster: Monday 23rd March, 3:30pm-5:00pm
- Auckland cluster: Tuesday 24th March, 3:30pm-5:00pm

Workshop 2 (full-day face-to-face): Building confidence in spoken communication.
- Christchurch cluster: Thursday 30th April, 9:00am-3:00pm
- Auckland cluster: Wednesday 6th May, 9:00am-3:00pm

Workshop 3 (online): Writing as habits.
- Christchurch cluster: Thursday 11th June, 3:30pm-5:00pm
- Auckland cluster: Friday 12th June, 3:30pm-5:00pm

Workshop 4 (full-day face-to-face): How to listen and make reading meaningful.
- Christchurch cluster: Friday 7th August, 9:00am-3:00pm
- Auckland cluster: Wednesday 12th August, 9:00am-3:00pm

Workshop 5 (online): Unpacking junior assessment.
- Christchurch cluster: Thursday 10th September, 3:30pm-5:00pm
- Auckland cluster: Friday 11th September, 3:30pm-5:00pm

Workshop 6 (online): Professional Growth Cycle presentations.
- Christchurch cluster: Wednesday 11th, Thursday 12th or Friday 13th November, 3:30pm-5:00pm
- Auckland cluster: Wednesday 11th, Thursday 12th or Friday 13th November, 3:30pm-5:00pm

Cost:

Covered by Language Circle - 1 x Teacher release day, 2 x School visits if required, 2 x Face to Face workshops, Airfares to and from face to face workshops/ shuttle to and from airport to workshop venue/ accommodation if required, Catering for workshops.

Not covered by Language Circle (School or Teachers to cover) - Transport cost including parking to and from the airport in your home town, one Teacher Release Day for the face to face workshops and release time for an hour after the practice analysis visit/ preferably straight after the visit.
