This course is designed to support educators to understand, develop, and implement strategies to improve outcomes for students in multi-level language classes.
This course is delivered through two full-day face-to-face workshops, four online workshops, and practice analysis school visits.
Teachers who are working with multi-level language classes, or multi-lingual classes combined.

Important note: Dates and workshop venue will be confirmed once the programme commences.
Workshop 1 (full-day face-to-face) : Introduction to the course, meet and share contexts, PGC requirements.
- Christchurch cluster: Thursday 23rd April, 9am-3pm
- Wellington cluster: Friday 24th April, 9am-3pm
- Auckland cluster: Wednesday 29th April, 9am-3pm
Workshop 2 (online): Considerations for the multi-level language classroom, principles for instructed second-language acquisition. The importance of evidence. Monday 4th May 2026, 3:30pm-4:30pm
Workshop 3 (online): Approaches to teaching in the multi-level classroom. TBC
Workshop 4 (full-day face-to-face): Developing independent learners, differentiation and respectful tasks. Term 3 date TBC
Workshop 5 (online): Language sustainability in schools. Tuesday 25th August 2026, 3:30pm-4.30pm
Workshop 6 (online): Professional Growth Cycle presentations. Monday 2nd November, 2026, 3:30pm-4:30pm
Covered by Language Circle - 1 x Teacher release day, 2 x School visits if required, 2 x Face to Face workshops, Airfares to and from face to face workshops/ shuttle to and from airport to workshop venue/ accommodation if required, Catering for workshops.
Not covered by Language Circle (School or Teachers to cover) - Transport cost including parking to and from the airport in your home town, one Teacher Release Day for the face to face workshops and release time for an hour after the practice analysis visit/ preferably straight after the visit.
