Football in Germany is as big as rugby in New Zealand. In this Kaffeeklatsch we will discuss opportunities to integrate the Football World Cup into the language classroom.

Participants will:

• Explore examples of German football language and culture

• Exchange ideas on tasks, exercises and some quizzes on the Football World Cup

• Experience oral activities that promote student communication and engagement

• Have a look at some online resources on the topic.

Workshop will be held mainly in German. Participants may speak German or English.
