Language Assistants 2027

25^th February – 29^th October 2027

New Zealand schools pay two-thirds of the assistants’ salaries. Schools are also required to support assistants by providing temporary accommodation upon arrival. For a comprehensive overview of all responsibilities, please read the Information for Schools document below.

The annual cost to a school for a French or German assistant for one day a week in 2027 is $3,912.30 (+GST).

The annual cost to a school for a Spanish assistant for one day a week in 2027 is $4,636.80 (+GST).

Language Circle will cover:
- One third of the assistants’ salaries (paid to the host school)
- Visa reimbursement of NZ$1000 (paid to the assistant)
- Transport reimbursement of NZ$1000 (paid to the assistant)
- All costs associated with the in-person orientation in Auckland in February
- In-school visits by National Language Advisers
- Required documentation for visa applications and individual employment agreements (IEA)

All New Zealand schools are welcome to apply for a language assistant in 2027.  
Language Circle will contact all applicants for further information before selecting successful schools.
