2 Day Workshop
Imagine spending two days surrounded by fellow German teachers — sharing ideas, experimenting with AI tools, and exploring how technology and culture can work together to make language learning more engaging, more personalised, and more exciting. This workshop is designed for teachers who want fresh energy, practical tools, and new ways to inspire students. If you’re curious about AI, passionate about German culture, or simply looking to stretch your teaching practice, this experience offers space to learn, play, reflect and reconnect with why you love teaching languages.
Join us in Wellington for a two-day face-to-face workshop exploring how AI can enhance German language teaching and support stronger cultural integration in the classroom. Across both days, participants will be introduced to digital tools, ethical considerations, classroom-ready applications and pathways for using AI to generate resources, feedback and learning tasks. There will be dedicated time to experiment, discuss with peers, and reflect on how these tools can be adopted meaningfully rather than mechanically.
Day 1 – 16 August 2026
Day 2 – 17 August 2026
9:00am–5:00pm both days.
Maximum 10 participants.
Attendance across both days is expected.
Registrations open 24 June 2026 and close 4 August 2026
No cost for NZ registered teachers
Note: there is no reimbursement of travel costs.
AI offers a powerful opportunity for teachers to create rich, differentiated German learning experiences — but only when used thoughtfully. This workshop supports teachers to build AI confidence, cultural integration skills and pedagogical clarity so that German remains a living, human, context-filled language in the classroom. By experimenting with digital tools at your own pace, reflecting with others, and developing AI literacy, you’ll return with fresh resources, new perspectives and the ability to adapt technology to your own teaching style. You’ll walk away confident, creative and ready to help students engage with German language and culture in deeper, more authentic ways.
