Bring fresh, authentic learning to your Spanish classroom, allowing your students to explore these iconic Central American staples as you integrate them into your language and culture lessons. This workshop will explore the popularity of the pupusa in Central America, equip you with valuable language learning resources to use with your Spanish students, and, most importantly, offer the hands-on experience of making pupusas from scratch. ¡Qué delicia!

Baradene College of the Sacred Heart, Auckland.

What we will cover

The workshop will start with an overview of the traditional pupusa and its continued cultural importance. We will then explore some language and culture learning resources for the classroom based on the pupusa. Finally, teachers will have the opportunity to make and eat their own delicious pupusas.

Who should attend

Teachers of Spanish This workshop will be delivered mostly in English with some Spanish depending on participants' preference.

Language Circle is funded to provide professional learning for provisionally and fully registered Primary, Intermediate and Secondary teachers throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
