French Immersion Day - Akaroa

Sunday 11^th of October 2026 in Akaroa (final day of the Akaroa French Festival).

Proposed schedule for the day:
8:15am - Departure from Ōtautahi for those who need
9:50 - Arrival in Akaroa
10:00 - Historic tour in French of Akaroa
12:15 - Lunch (meals covered by Language Circle)
13:30 - Pōhatu Penguin experience (in French)
15:45 - Depart Akaroa
17:00 - Arrival in Ōtautahi

Language Circle is thrilled to offer French teachers a unique experience in Akaroa.
Activities covered by Language Circle:
- Guided historic tour of Akaroa
- Pōhatu Penguin experience
Note: activities will be delivered in French

Transport covered by Language Circle:
- Return trip from Ōtautahi Christchurch in a minivan
Note: teachers are welcome to use a private vehicle to travel to Akaroa, however Language Circle is unable to offer mileage reimbursement

Meals covered by Language Circle:  
- Lunch (sandwich from French bakery and a drink)
Note: teachers should bring their own morning tea or any other snacks

Teachers of French in New Zealand.
All activities will be delivered in French. The number of participants on the tour is limited.  

Language Circle is funded to provide professional learning for provisionally and fully registered Primary, Intermediate and Secondary teachers throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
